Yikes, irony at its finest.
Did a dive into the deep end of the pool where I work. I immediately felt it was a bad dive before I entered the water. Then I entered the water and smashed into the bottom of the pool, specifically, the slope as the floor goes into the deep end. Scraped my face up pretty badly.
Talk about embarrassing: a lifeguard that injures himself by diving into the pool. Good stuff.
Minor, light scraping on my nose. More severe scrapes on my upper lip and chin. My sister is completely grossed out by it, so I use this to my advantage annoy her more. (TEEHEE.)
This is the kind of scraping that would leave some serious scarring. Luckily, there's Tegaderm Dressing, by 3M! I was introduced to this stuff about a year and a half ago after I took a serious spill off my bike as I was on my way to orchestra rehearsal. My violin was ok. The rest of me: not so much. I had a couple of scrapes on my face and I was given a couple of these Tegaderm films at the health center.
These things are amazing! They're not the most comfortable of dressings for wounds, and they're certainly not the most attractive. It looks like you stuck saran wrap over your wound, and they're transparent, so people can see your lovely scrapes with all their bloody, oozing glory underneath them. However, the reason they're so awesome is that scrapes will heal twice as fast compared to using bandaids, and they don't leave scars! Pretty neat, eh?
And finally, this kid can give one pretty epic inspirational speech.
